The early periods of the republic in the development of Turkish Music and Atatürk's statements about Turkish Music

Abstract

Music that is the same age as humanity's existence on earth; In addition to being an important branch of art that reflects the different cultures of societies and countries, like the unchanging character and personality of the individual, throughout the historical process, the individual; It is accepted as the element that undertakes the most important task in needs such as entertainment, belief, health and defense. The fact that music has a function that brings people together as a "global language" is based on its functions and effects in the existence process of humanity. The subject of this study, which has been prepared considering the reality that the cultural life of societies and countries has an important place among what the art of music conveys; It was designed in the context of the importance given to Turkish Music by the great leader Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, and the influences on the emergence of contemporary Turkish Music within the framework of this approach. In the study, which was prepared as a compilation, the developments in Turkish Music after the proclamation of the Republic, the institutions and organizations established based on these developments, and Atatürk's statements on Turkish Music were shared.
