Abstract

Since the genetic roots of Ashik music are closely related to folk creativity, its melodic, metrorhythmic, and mode-intonation features, i.e., tonal qualities, are products of folk thinking and are unique to each person and loved. In order to explore and reveal the subtleties of this art, ethnopsychology, philology, linguistics, historiography, philosophy, cultural science, and other scientific disciplines must be studied, and the essence of epics, as well as the content, poetics, and melodic language features of the tunes, should be examined comprehensively. The syncretic nature of Ashik creativity has laid the foundation for its widespread use in folk creativity and in all ceremonies in daily life. Ashik creativity has demonstrated its importance as one of the influential fields of folklore studies, oral and later written literature. Due to its melo-poetic, melo-semantic features, Ashik poetry is a unique artistic stream in our folklore, filtered through the lens of national thought and national culture. Creative love, both in folklore and musical folklore studies, has always been a focal point of researchers' interest. The musicology of the notes, especially some tunes ("Kürt ovşarı", "Osmanlı bahri", "Osmanlı Keremi", "Ovşarı"), and particularly ethnomusicology, is still very important to study. The study of Ashik music from an ethnomusicological perspective is even more significant, as this art, rooted in ancient traditions, stands out with its rich literary forms and antiquity, and it has deep roots in people's thoughts. The historical-literary and theoretical approach principle has been utilized in the study of this subject. Descriptive, typological, historical, and theoretical comparative methods have been used here. The master Ashik artists, the main creators of numerous epics, have created these artistic monuments in a syncretic form specific to Ashik creativity and have given special importance to continuously promoting them in Ashik gatherings and meetings to convey their melo-poetic and semantic meanings, resulting in a more distinct and elevated artistic style.
