Analysis of Saadettin Kaynak’s work of Yanık Ömer with word-painting approach

Abstract

In this research, qualitative research, literature review and music analysis method will be used. The work will be analysed in terms of style analysis, maqam, usûl, transition, melody orientation and motive. The findings will be evaluated with the ‘word-painting’ approach within the framework of the relationship between words and music. Word-painting is defined as shaping the melodic, harmonic and rhythmic structures in the musical content of the work to reflect the meaning in the words and changing the words in a similar way to the meaning changes. In this paper, the ‘purposive sampling method’ was preferred.
