The importance of Erdinç Çelikkol's composing in the modernization process of Turkic music

Abstract

While Turkish folk music and Turkish art music have come to these days, he has experienced his adventure in 3 periods; The establishment with the Seljuk State, the development with the Ottoman State, the modernization and westernization processes with the Republic of Turkey can be named as the periods of progress. While the song form came to the fore in Turkish music culture after the Republican period, cultural elements such as music spread rapidly with the availability and use of newspapers, radio and TV, and progressed from local to national, from national to global. Turkish music, especially since the Republican era, preferred the simplification way in literature and composition, and it was a period in which simpler makams were used, the effects of the makams decreased, more freer and smaller rhythms were used in terms of rhythm, and works with the theme of love and affection increased a lot. The pioneers of the transformation of this period, especially Hacı Arif Bey; Artists such as Sadettin Kaynak, Münir Nurettin Selçuk, Sadi Işılay, Şerif İçli, Mesut Cemil, Selahattin Pınar, Avni Anıl and Erdinç Çelikkol. He was educated by taking lessons from the masters of the period, was counted among the important composers of her period with both classical forms, religious and fantasy songs and made very important contributions to Turkish music. She also produced works in a free-romantic style and managed to add a total of 345 works to the TSM Repertoire. After her, she trained many master artists, composers and trainers and made a first-degree contribution to the development of Turkish music, especially in Bursa.
